SRA-NE January 2015 Seminar on Air Quality and Human Health Impacts of Hydraulic Fracturing

SRA-NE held its first seminar of 2015 at Industrial Economics, Inc. (IEc) on Wednesday, January 14. The seminar included two presentations on air quality and human health impacts of hydraulic fracturing.

The first presentation was by John Wilhelmi, M.S. (Eastern Research Group, Inc.) who discussed the main findings from the Fort Worth Natural Gas Air Quality Study, in which two approaches were taken to characterize air quality impacts associated with natural gas production activities. The second presentation was delivered by Manu Sharma, M.S., P.E. and Ari S. Lewis, M.S (Gradient). Manu and Ari presented the human health risk evaluation they undertook which focused on potential risks to drinking water in basins underlain by shale and other tight oil- and gas-bearing formations. Abstracts of the presentations and speaker biographies can be found here.
