Call for Papers: Risk, Perception, and Response

The Harvard Center for Risk Analysis seeks papers exploring why people overreact to or neglect risks. Abstracts are due June 10, 2013, for a March 20-21, 2014, conference.

The conference, which will be held at the Harvard School of Public Health, is intended to increase our understanding of the factors that contribute to individuals’ responding to risks in ways that seem contrary to their own interests. These factors may include how risk information is perceived and communicated, how we react to social and cultural influences, and how choices are structured.

Papers may be theoretically or empirically oriented; case studies are encouraged but not required.

The Center is offering up to $1000 for presenter travel costs and a $3000 honorarium for each accepted paper. For details, including examples of the types of topics that might be addressed, please access the complete call by clicking here
