The SRA-China Election Results Are In
During the Annual Meeting of the Society for Risk Analysis - China (SRA-China)
(The 4th International Conference on Risk Analysis and Crisis Response, August
27-29, 2013, Istanbul, Turkey), SRA-China elected new officers to begin the second
term from 2013 to 2017. Professor Chongfu Huang from Beijing Normal University,
Professor Guofang Zhai from Nanjing University, Professor Hongbin Cao from
Beijing Normal University, and Dr. Sijian Zhao from Agricultural Information
Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences have been elected to the
positions of President, Vice President, Secretary General and Treasure, respectively.
Prof. Chongfu Huang is a full professor of Beijing Normal University and Director
of Research Center for System Simulation and Disaster Modeling, Academy of
Disaster Reduction and Emergency Management, Ministry of Civil Affairs & Ministry
of Education. Since 2004, he served as President for Risk Analysis Council of China
Association for Disaster Prevention (RAC). He was the founding President SRA_China
from 2009 to 2013. He received his B.A.Sc. in Mathematics from Yunnan University,
Kunming, China; M.A.Sc. in Earthquake Engineering from Institute of Engineering
Mechanics, Harbin, China; Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Beijing Normal University.
From 1993 to 1995 he worked in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics as
a postdoctoral research fellow. He worked in the Chinese University of Hong Kong as
a research associate, in Tokyo University of Science as an associate professor in 1996.
As a visiting professor, he worked in University of Ghent, Belgium, in 1997 and in University
Nebraska at Omaha, USA, in 2000. From 2000 to 2001, he was a Mercator professor and
worked in University of Dortmund, Germany. As a visiting professor, he worked again in
Tokyo University of Science and University of Ghent in 2004 and 2006, respectively.
His significant contributions to science would involve the discovery of the principle of
information diffusion. From 1994, he devoted to study disaster risk issues and to develop
the risk discipline in China. He has published 216 papers and 16 books. His current
research interests include internet of intelligences in risk Analysis for online services,
dynamic risk analysis, experimental riskology, fuzzy information processing,
earthquakes and typhoon.
Prof. Guofang Zhai is a full professor and Director of Urban Planning and Design,
Deputy Dean of Architecture and Urban Planning, Nanjing University. He served as
Secretary-General of the Society for Risk Analysis, China (SRA-China) from 2009
to 2013, and the Vice-Secretary-General of Risk Analysis Council, China Disaster
Prevention Association (RAC) from 2008_2012. He got Bachelor Degree and Master
Degree in Economic Geography and Urban Planning from Nanjing University in 1986
and 1989, respectively, and Master Degree and PhD in urban and regional planning
from Tsukuba University, Japan in 1997 and 2000, respectively. Professor Zhai
once worked at China Nanjing municipal government, Japan National Institute for
Earth Science and Disaster Prevention (NIED), and Japan National Institute for Land
and Infrastructure Management (NILIM). He has published more than 100 papers in
leading academic journals including Risk Analysis, Journal of Risk Research,
China Economic Review, and Journal of the American Water Resources Association.
His current research interests include urban risk management, urban disaster
prevention planning, urban development and planning, urban modeling and Japanese
Prof. Hongbin Cao is a full professor of Beijing Normal University. She serves as
Secretary-General for Risk Analysis Council of China Association for Disaster
Prevention (RAC) from 2012. She got PhD degree in urban and regional planning
from Tsukuba University, Japan in 2001. Prof. Hongbin Cao has worked in College
of Environmental Science and Engineering, Nankai University, China, Research
Center for Chemical Risk Management, National Institute of Advanced Industrial
Science and Technology (AIST), Japan and Risk Center for Environmental Risk,
National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), Japan, respectively. She has
published more than 50 papers in leading academic journals including Risk
Analysis, Environmental Science & Technology, Journal of Exposure Science
and Environmental Epidemiology, Journal of Hazardous Materials, and Science
of the Total Environment. Her research interest includes exposure assessment,
environmental risk assessment and management of hazardous chemicals.
In recent years, she do researches focused on the safety evaluation and criteria
determination of foodstuffs and traditional Chinese herbal medicine based on
health risk assessment.
Dr. Sijian Zhao Zhao is an associate researcher in Agricultural Information Institute
of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. From 2008 to 2012, he served
as Secretary-General for Risk Analysis Council of China Association for Disaster
Prevention (RAC), and since 2013, he served as Vice-Secretary-General of RAC.
He received Ph.D. in Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resource
Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2016. He worked in the Hong Kong
Polytechnic University as a research associate from 2017 to 2018, and he worked
of Beijing Normal University as a post-doctor from 2018 to 2010. His research topics
focus on agriculture risk management and agricultural insurance. He has published
more than 40 papers in Chinese and international leading academic journals.
