Dr. Patrick Gurian is a professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering where he serves as the Environmental Engineering Program Head. He has over 25 years of experience in risk assessment and risk management, primarily in the water quality field. He is the past chair of the Microbial Risk Assessment Specialty Group of the Society for Risk Analysis and serves on the editorial board of the journal AWWA Water Science. His work has been recognized with awards from the Society for Risk Analysis, the American Water Works Association, and the journal Building and Environment.
